F. Wilhelmenia "Billie" Boozer's Obituary
Florence Wilhelmenia "Billie" Boozer, age 79, of Tacoma, WA passed away on Tuesday, November 18th, 2014, surrounded by family.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina on November 28th, 1934. She was the daughter of Walter Petigrew and Effie Johnson Butler, and was the wife of the late Roscoe Boozer (USAF, Ret.).
Billie was a 1953 graduate of Sterling High School, where she excelled in academics. She began working in retail at an early age, and completed her work experience as a Department Manager with Sears, Roebuck & Company in Downtown Tacoma, WA.
A chance encounter at a USO dance in 1955 with her future husband Roscoe became the beginning of a life-long appreciation of Armed Forces and love of country. As a longtime supporter of the Armed Forces, she worked with the Flying Tigers, a group that performed Fleet Services for airplanes returning from the Vietnam War and had assisted with activities with the VFW and Amvets organizations. Billie was a 20-year active participant at the Multicare Adult Day Health Center where she continued to spread her love for service.
As a loving grandmother, mother, sister, and aunt, she is survived by her son (Marc Boozer); daughter-in-law (Nadia Boozer); granddaughter (Ruby Samira Boozer) of Tacoma, Washington; her sister (Leontine "Ray" Butler-Ivery), brother (Ernest Butler), both of Greenville, SC; sister-in-law (Jane Mitchell) of Burnham, IL; sister-in-law (Birdie Brown), of Chicago, IL; in-laws (Mosleh and Jean Dobashi) of Tacoma, WA, close family friends (Quarles Family) of Tacoma, WA, and a host of nieces and nephews. Billie was preceded in death by son Milton Boozer and husband Roscoe Boozer.

Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend Billie Boozer’s Life Celebration at Mountain View Memorial Park . A reception will immediately follow at Star Center (3873 S 66th St, Tacoma, WA 98409).
