Evida Perez Molinari "Mama"'s Obituary
Evida P Molinari, 86, of Tacoma, passed away peacefully in the company of loved ones August 14, 2017.
Born in Penonome', Panama, Evida, known to all as simply, “Mama”...was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was the Matriarch and was most happy when surrounded by her friends and family. She is survived by her Husband of 68 years, Gilberto Molinari; Sister, Vilma Anria; Sons, Gilberto, Alberto and Omar (Linda); Daughters, Evida Hoke, Sandra Gamble (Ken) and Blanca Molinari; Grandchildren, Veronica Mariel Gamble, Rafael Molinari, James David Shin, Krystal Ann Dowey, Jason Hoke, Stephen Hoke, Alberto Molinari Jr, Elicia Molinari, Christina Molinari, Ariel Molinari and Alyssa Molinari; Great Grandchildren, Amaya Hoke, Skyler Dowey, Briana Dowey and Landon Shin.
Mama fell in love with, and married one man...Gilberto Molinari, who she faithfully remained married to for 68 years. She was a shining example of a loving and devoted wife of whom we are all very proud of. The effort and commitment...the strength required to achieve such a milestone cannot be understated. It is rare and beautiful.
The moniker “Mama” is more than a nickname. It is simply what one felt inclined to call her (after hearing everyone else calling her “Mama”) because of her welcoming nature, warm smile and her motherly character.
Mama loved birds, flowers and gardening. She enjoyed “creating and nurturing” things and you could often find her crafting or painting, even as she took care of a granchild or great grandchild. She was a generous woman, gladly helping someone in their time of need, whether it be time, conversation or money.
Mama very much enjoyed cooking and hosting gatherings. It was probably where she was most comfortable, and most liked to be...family and friends relaxing and telling stories...after a good meal that she had worked all day to prepare. It truly was a labor of love, and the payoff for Mama was all of the happy, content people that surrounded her. If someone else was hosting..well, Mama could be found in the kitchen laughing and helping prepare the food.
Mama shared her love of cooking while working in several Nursing Homes as a cook. She attempted to bring a familial touch to the food she created there for others that were not able to cook for themselves. Her most recent place of employment being the Weatherly Inn in Tacoma, where she worked for several years. She made many friends there, both Staff and Clients, and was loved by all.
She often spoke about her beloved Panama, where she had been born and raised. She was proud of her native Country, and her eyes sparkled when she spoke of it. She inspired family members to travel to Panama, to experience the Country and Family that she loved so much. Those that visited were richer for the experience.
A service will be held on Friday, August 25th at 11 am in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home, to remember and celebrate our sweet Mama.
