Evelyn Rose Westman SwansonEvelyn Rose Westman Swanson went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, November 28, 2004. She was born in Minneapolis, MN, Dec. 27, 1917 to Rev. and Mrs. John Westman who pastored many churches in the Mid-West. Evelyn married Stanley Swanson in Chicago in 1937, where they raised 2 children, serving the Lord teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir and entertaining family and friends. She worked for Teletype Corp. until retirement in 1973 moving to Tacoma with her husband. They were active members of Life Center Assembly of God. They enjoyed living in the West Park Condominiums, RVing with the Good SamÂ's Club and spending winter months in Mesa, AZ. Evelyn in survived by her daughter Sherryl (Don) Antilla of Tacoma, son Dr. Merlyn (Sharon) Swanson of Arlington Heights, IL, 4 grandchildren: David Antilla, Sue Antilla Floyd, Steven Swanson and Jennifer Swanson Hillbo: 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She leaves behind 2 sisters Dorothy Walterman, Elaine Savage and brother Lee Westman, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, her parents and brother John Jr.Our thanks to the staff of Life Manor Assisted Living and University Place Care Center for their loving care in these final months. Viewing will be from 3-7pm Sunday, Dec. 5 at Mt. View Funeral Home. The service will be Monday, Dec. 6, at 10AM in the Mt. View Garden Chapel, followed by a graveside and a reception. Memorials may be made to Life Center Church, 1717 S. Union, Tacoma, WA 98405.
