Evelyn Yvonne Mabry's Obituary
Evelyn Yvonne Mabry was born September 15, 1941, to Blanche and Denton Belcher in Herrin, Illinois, and died April 25, 2024, in Olympia, Washington.
Evelyn was a remarkable woman who played many roles in her life. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, military wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a cherished friend to many. Her vibrant spirit and love for life were evident in the countless adventures she embarked on and the connections she formed wherever she went.
Being a military wife, Evelyn and her family had to relocate frequently. However, this never hindered her ability to forge new friendships along the way. Family always held a special place in Evelyn's heart, and she prioritized their well-being above all else.
After retiring from her job as a Mental Health Technician at Western State Hospital in Washington, Evelyn took immense pride in the impact she had made in helping others. She possessed a remarkable creative streak, which she expressed through various hobbies such as cake decorating, painting, wood carving, sewing, crocheting, and her true passion - flower gardening. If you ever had trouble reaching her, you could be sure she was out in her flower garden, tending to her plants until late into the night.
Evelyn's love for animals was undeniable, particularly for her beloved Maine Coon cats, Katie and Mia. They held a special place in her heart, and she showered them with affection and care.
She is survived by her son Mark Mabry, daughter-in-law Stephanie Mabry, and grandson Damon of Washington State. Her daughter Rhonda Garvin, and son-in-law John Garvin of Ohio.
