Evelyn P. Kienow's Obituary
Evelyn P. Kienow, age 90, passed away July 17, 2017 in Gig Harbor, Washington. She was born August 10, 1926 in New Orleans, Louisiana to parents Victor and Evelyn Ricouard.
Evelyn is survived by her children Robert (Rosie) Kienow, Carol (Ed) Brown and Wendy (Joel) Wojtanowicz; grandchildren Tammy Garrett, Dawn Mays, Suzanne Kienow, Kelly Sesay, Bethany, Ariel, Allie and Mackenzie Wojtanowicz; great-grandchildren Dayshawn Kienow, Derek, Connor and Bailey Garrett and Amya Sesay. Evelyn's sister Mercedes still resides in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Wayne Franklin Kienow who passed in 2003 as well as Evelyn's siblings- Dorothy, Alvin and Albert.
Evelyn was a great contributor to her community. She served as a Girl Scout leader, held a position in the Catholic organization Young Ladies Institute and served as a volunteer for St. Joseph’s Hospital for over 20 years.
Evelyn loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren; spoiling them with her famous goulash and picking every seed out of their watermelon.
She had a great sense of humor and was always making those around her laugh. She would find the bright side in everything-she once instead of being appalled- pointed out to her granddaughter upon hearing a story of some students bringing alcohol to school that, at least, they had the decency to share it!
She and her laugh will be greatly missed!!
A service celebrating the life of Evelyn will be held 1:00 PM Friday, July 21, 2017 in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
