Evelyn Mary Ann Heggen's Obituary
In Loving Memory
Evelyn MaryAnn (Zimmerman) Heggen was born February 24, 1922 in Elizabeth, Minnesota and passed away in Mesa, AZ on March 10, 2021 at the age of 99 years young. She was mother to three daughters Shirley Lavelle (deceased), Barbara (Mike) Patrick, and Susan Shelley. She had 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was employed at Mount Rainer Ordinance Depot Ft. Lewis, Washington and a proud Boeing employee for 34 years as a mechanic, AKA Rosie the Riveter. In her travels her saying was, “If its not Boeing, I’m not going!” She was a lifetime member of the VFW where she proudly served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary. Her many interests were her collecting of Barbie Dolls, annual lefsa baking, get togethers with family, shopping, crafting, daily phone calls with her daughters. She was kind, generous, and loved her family. As she aged, she slowed down and she inherited the name turtle. And as the TURTLE said, “Slow but steady wins the race.” She was the last surviving child of 17 children. She will be missed and be forever in our hearts.
