Evelyn Case Noges' Obituary
Evelyn -Å"Evie- Case Noges, 82, passed away peacefully on New Years Day, 2011 at Frank Tobey Jones Retirement Estates after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Evie was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 21, 1928 and grew up in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. She met her future husband, Endrik Noges, on a blind date at Denison University and then -Å"she chased him until he caught her-. The couple married shortly after she graduated in 1951. They lived in Illinois during Endrik's graduate studies at Northwestern University. During this time the couple had three children: Paul, Rob, and Linda. In 1958, the family moved to Seattle.
Evie was a full-time mom and fully committed to loving, caring for, and supporting her family and community. Her activities mirrored her family's interests: Cub Scouts (den mother), Girl Scouts (leader), PTA (leader), and Crystal Mt. Ski Patrol (First Aid Room volunteer). Retirement years were active and vibrant as Evie and Endrik shared their love of travel, biking, and skiing with dear friends. Evie's warm hospitality, alongside Endrik's, extended to family and friends worldwide; the welcome mat was always out and Evie's cookie drawer always full and ready to share.
Evie is survived by her sister, Marion Smith of Jacksonville, Florida; her children, Paul Noges of Tacoma, Rob Noges of Lake Forest Park, and Linda Dimmitt of Wenatchee; seven grandchildren; and a community of incredible friends. She was loved by all and will be remembered fondly.
Remembrances may be sent to a Parkinson's Foundation of choice such as the Northwest Parkinson's Foundation or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
