Evan Wood Richmond's Obituary
Evan W. Richmond, 92 of Tacoma passed away January 6, 2017. Just two weeks before he had enjoyed celebrating Christmas with his wife of over 70 years and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born November 6, 1924 in Tacoma, Evan was a 1942 graduate of Lincoln High School and a longtime owner of Ajax Electric in Tacoma and Seattle. Evan was a WWII Marine Corps veteran and fought on Okinawa where he was awarded a bronze star for his bravery. He also served in the Marines during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the IBEW, a fifty year member of the ELKS, and a member of the International Pot and Kettle Club. He is survived by his wife Lila; daughters Susan Richardson and Sally Makfinsky; sons in law John Richardson and Steve Makfinsky; daughter in law Debi Richmond; grandchildren John Richardson, Reed Richardson, Melissa Campbell, 2nd Lt. Calvin Makfinsky, and Andy Lundale and their spouses Dana, Lisa, Kevin, and Taleen. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren: Emily, Nathaniel, Reed Evan, Luke, Caitlyn, Jake, Evan, Dagi, Maverick, and Aria. In addition he is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Randy Richmond, his three brothers: Donald, Byron, and George and his sister Mildred Keller. He will be interred at the Tahoma National Cemetery.
