Evalu T. Niuatoa Titialii Lauvale's Obituary
Evalu T Niuatoa Titialii Lauvale, 75, known to many as Niutunu Faiaipau, passed away on Thursday, May 16th, 2013 in Lakewood, Wa. He was the third of nine siblings and was born on February 9, 1938 in Pago Pago, American Samoa to Lauvale F Titialii and Ela T Niuatoa Alaga.
Raised by his adopted father Niutunu Faiaipau Sr and grandmother Pu'a T Niuatoa in the villages of Onenoa, and Alofau, American Samoa. He graduated from Poyer Jr High in the mid 1950s, which was the highest level of education on the island at the time.
Evalu married Malia T Iuli-Salanoa Suisala in 1967 in Seattle, WA. They were happily married for 46 years.
He was a proud, long standing member of Seattle's 1st Samoan Congregational Christian Church with Rev Folasa Titialii (Ret) in South Seattle. He was also a Deacon and had held several positions in the Church as a Choir President, Treasurer and Secretary between 1964 to 2009.
Evalu is survived by his wife Malia of Falefa, Samoa; his daughter Pelenatete Pio (husband Kalolo) residing in Apia Samoa; his son Ronnie (wife Fatima) residing in Seattle WA; his son Evalu Jr (wife Janeen) residing in Anchorage AK; his daughter Lesa (husband Taylor) residing in Lakewood, WA; and his 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by Evelise Faapouli (sister) residing in Honolulu, HI; Rev. Elder Lagofaatasi A. Lupesoliai (brother) residing in Honolulu, HI; Lesa Lupe Ae (sister) residing in Pago Pago, American Samoa; Orepa Hall (sister) residing in Auburn, WA; Lata Ela Allen (sister) residing in Aua, American Samoa. He was preceded into Heaven by his daughter Surita (deceased), survived by her husband Ioane and who rests in Nu'uuli, American Samoa, his sister FaalupelupeaoOtuimanua Lauvale, brother Va'asoaia Faiaipau, brother Afaaso Alaga, who all rest in Hawaii.
A family viewing will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW. Lakewood, WA at 1:00 pm till 8:00 pm on May 28, 2013, and a memorial service to be held at Mountain View's Valley Chapel, 10:00 am on May 29, 2013 with a reception to follow at Ft Lewis Congregational Church Hall 9821 Ainsworth Avenue S. Tacoma, WA.
