Eugene W Shaw's Obituary
Born June 12, 1916, at Mt. Clare, NE, passed away December 24, 2005 in Tacoma, WA. Graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1940, and served in the US Army Arno-Po campaign in Italy in WWII. He separated in 1953 as a Major from the US Army Engineer Reserves.He was preceded in death by his parents, Melville W. and Maud Jones Shaw, his brother Ralph W. Shaw, his wife Ruth Pitzer Shaw in 1943; survived by wife LuVerne Breaw Shaw of Lakewood, WA, sons Bob (Cheryl) of Denver, Jim (Judy) of University Place, and Jay (Toni) of Tacoma, seven grandchildren and five great grand children.Gene worked as an agricultural engineer for USDA and also for USAID in India and Pakistan before retiring in 1980. He was a member of NARFE and was actively involved in the Seattle Reformed Presbyterian Church. He was an avid runner and walker and was active in Evergreen Wanderers for many years.Memorials may be made to the Reformed Presbyterian Church, 6554 20th Ave, Seattle, WA 98115, or Faith Presbyterian Church, 620 S Shirley St, Tacoma, WA 98465.A Memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, Dec 28, 2005, in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center. Burial will be in Tahoma National Cemetery.
