Eugene F. Fries' Obituary
Gene left us November 3rd peacefully at his home. He is survived by his wife Bev and a brother Don Fries of Marietta, GA. Born in Tacoma November 9th, 1926, he joined the U.S. Navy at a very young age and served on the USS Flint in the South Pacific during WW 2. After retiring from Totem Electric of Tacoma, Bev and Gene along with their four Mastiffs moved to the Summit View area on their mini farm. Since they received a goat as a house warming present, that was the beginning of a lot more goats, a few cows, lots of ducks and geese, a few cats and a lot of rescue animals. Gene would say there always room for one more. He did get away once in a while, really enjoyed fishing in Alaska and Canada and he looked forward to Sunday’s at Emerald Downs with his buddies. His garden and orchard supplied a lot of friends with fruits and veggies. He love entering his dahlias in the Puyallup Fair and has a collection of ribbons, even a best in show! But the joy of his life was the love from his Mastiffs. Yes my dear you’ve had a full life and we are going to miss you very much. Respectfully honoring your wishes there will be no services.
