Ethel Geneva -Å"Jean- Garbe, 92, passed away November 2, 2012 in Tacoma, WA. Born in Springfield, Ohio, Jean moved to Detroit, MI as a teenager; she married and raised her family there. She moved to Tacoma, WA in her 80s. Jean is predeceased by her husband, Curt Garbe, her eldest daughter, Sally McDonald, and her grandson, Roland Sterling. She is survived by her daughters Ruth Laird of Tacoma, WA and Peggy Sterling of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughters Jennie Laird (partner Elise Gautama) of Seattle and Robbie -Å"Caille- Howe (Laird) of Australia, and grandsons Curt Sterling (partner Bill Deckard) of Albuquerque and William McDonald of Olympia, WA. Donations in her name may be made to the Red Cross.
