Estella Mae (Erdman) Murphy Born 5-18-1924 in New Albany, IN. Died 25-2015 in Yelm, WA. She was 91 years old. Estella Mae was an Army Wife and served with her husband at Fort Knox, KY, Fort Riley, KS, Fort Sheridan, IL, Camp Zama, Japan, and Fort Hood, TX before moving to Tacoma, WA to enjoy Civilian life.
She had been married to her husband, George E. Murphy for 67 years. She was a 67 year member of the Order of Eastern Star at Radcliff, KY. She taught Sunday School, was a Girl Scout Leader, and transported her family everywhere they needed to be. She was a great support to her husband and children.
She was preceded by her parents, Burton Owen Edrman, and Pheobe Jane (Rothrock) Erdman of New Albany, IN.
She is survived by her husband George Edison Murphy of the home, Five children Carolyn Correll,Tacoma, George Charles Murphy, Tacoma, Barbara Jane Murphy-Wheelhouse (Allen Wheelhouse), Yelm Robert John Murphy (Dolores), Elma, and Patrick Brian Murphy, Tacoma. 5 Grandchildren, Samantha Mae (Stuart) Puyallup, Michael, Yelm, Theresa (Troy), Tacoma, Dennis (Ruby),Tacoma, Windy (Tom), MN, Heather, MN Becky (Shane) Tacoma, Shawna (Michael) Tacoma, Robert John's, Dennis' and Theresa's stepchildren. 10 plus Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed.
