Erven L. Hagen's Obituary
On July 20th, Erven passed away, peacefully surrounded by his wife and children. He was born in Tacoma on Feb. 17, 1925, the son of Adolph and Ragna Hagen and the brother of Thorsten, Palmer, and Arthur. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Lois; children Jeffrey (Deb), Linda (Andy Smith), Nancy (Barry Ribble), 5 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.
Erven was a graduate of Lincoln HS. In 1943, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served during WWII. After the war, he graduated from PLU with a B.A. degree in Education. He pursued two careers: insurance claims and teaching. He taught woodworking, architecture and heroically, drivers’ ed. Erven retired from Fife HS in 1982.
Erven was known and loved for his hospitality, generosity, creativity, carpentry skills, Norwegian pride, endless jokes, and for his great love of God, family, and friends.
