Ernest Otto Werner
Born Oct. 1929 to Herman and Aurelia Werner of Darwin, MN. Dad joined the USAF in 1949 and spent 26 years on active duty, retiring in Jan. 1976. After college he spent six years serving the USAF as a civilian employee, for a total of 32 years of dedicated Federal Service. On the way, he married Artheline LaBreck and spent 56 years as his loving partner. Six children were born to their union: Perley, Carolyn, Vickie, Dennis, Madeline, and Greg. Perley died at a young age; the other children went on to raise beautiful families of their own. All live in Pierce County and were frequent visitors to the family home in Lakewood. Ernie was predeceased by son Perley, brothers Frank and Harry. Survived by his wife Artie, children Carolyn (MacLeod) (Mark) of Gig Harbor; Vickie (Glastetter) (Kurt) of Puyallup; Dennis Werner (Sheila) of Spanaway; Madeline Werner (Sharon Hollen) of Roy; and Greg Werner (Dawn) of Puyallup; grandchildren Colleen, Kelli, Nicholas, Mia, John, and Scott; and sister Ruth Abrahamson of Cokato, MN. Funeral services will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday, January 24th, 2009 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church, 14601 A St S., Tacoma, WA 98444.
