Ernest F. E.'s Obituary
Gene Willhoite, 78, died March 25, 2005 of heart failure. He was born Dec. 22, 1926 in Wenatchee, WA to Ernest and Nettie Willhoite.Preceding him in death was his parents, brother Keith, and son Kenneth. Survivors are his wife Glenna of the home; 3 daughters Linda (Don) Staggs, Dixie Willhoite, and Rena (Doug) Passey; 6 grandchildren Keith, Ben, Donnie, Sue and her husband James Kirby, Zack and Chrissy (Jason); 2 great-grandchildren Karina and Travis; 4 stepchildren Paul, Terry, Dewayne and Richard; 4 step-grandchildren Gordon, Billy, Shon, and Steven; step-great-grandchildren Jason and Charles; sisters Velma Miller and Shirley Nation; sister-in-law Iva Willhoite, and several nephews and nieces.He was in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII, serving aboard a mine sweep in the Aleutian Islands.He was in building maintenance and was superintendent in the WA Building for 23 years. He had also been in logging and a tavern operator in Puyallup. On retiring, he and Glenna went RVing, and in 1990 he bought property in Shelton and built a log home. He was an antique tractor enthusiast, he belonged to the Antique Farm Engine and Tractor Assoc., the Rainier 2cyl Club, and the Southwest WA 2cyl Club.Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM on Friday, April 1, 2005 at Mountain View Memorial Park.
