Erna T. McMonagle's Obituary
Erna Clarissa McMonagle
Erna passed away peacefully Sunday December 1, 2013, at the Columbia Lutheran Home in Seattle. Erna was born in Spring Lake Michigan on April 16, 1918 to Otto Ernst and Henrietta Anna Elizabeth Rader. She grew up in Parkland, Washington, where her parents raised poultry. After a successful baseball career at Lincoln High School in Tacoma, and a long deferred college education at Lynnwood Community College, Erna thoroughly enjoyed her civilian career with the U.S. Army at Fort Lewis. Erna was predeceased by her husband of 30 years Dr. William D. McMonagle, with who she travelled the world. She is survived by her 5 daughters, Marianne Taylor, Gloria Taylor, Gretchen Taylor, Donna Taylor and Deborah Taylor Bender, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mom would want her friends on North 15th, Les Jardinieres, PEO ChapterAY, and Wine Club to know how very much she enjoyed and treasured their friendship. Erna will be interred with her beloved Bill at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery in Auburn. A memorial celebration will be scheduled in early 2014.
