Erma I. Perrigo's Obituary
Erma I. Bonewitz-Perrigo 10/5/1925 - 11/28/2011 Erma was born in Somerville, IN during the "Roaring 20's." She had a work ethic that was nurtured at a young age during the Depression. Her granddaddy would dig sassafras root, which she would bundle and sell door-to-door, beginning her life-long career in sales. She was successful in everything she did, and started selling real estate in 1955, establishing her own firm, Lakewood Villa Realty, in 1960. When her daughter and son-in-law bought the business, she did not retire, but went on to open another business, "Lakewood Suntanning, Classy Nails and Hair." She continued to busy herself with many remodeling projects, and was happiest when she had a project in the works. She loved to travel, go dancing at the Elks, play cards, and go to movies with her husband of 7 years, Thomas Paine Perrigo III. She enjoyed a 36-year marriage to her late husband, Richard Bonewitz. Erma is survived by her husband and Donald Murphie of Seattle, the father of her two loving children, Patrick Murphie (Kathy) and Bridget Upton (Ken), two step-daughters, Shelli Bonewitz and Tona Culver (Bob), 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. A celebration of Erma's remarkable life will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in the Aspen Chapel on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 1 PM. Donations may be made in Erma's name to the Deacon's Fund of the Little Church on the Prairie, Lakewood, WA.
