Eric T. Gunderson's Obituary
It is with the utmost sorrow that we lay to rest and say our final goodbyes to the dearest husband, father, son, brother, Soldier of the Law, community hero, and friend Eric Gunderson. Eric tragically passed away on Sunday, September 26th after battling complications associated with Covid 19. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kameron; their two sons, Blake (age 13) and Brayden (age 10); his parents, Tammy and Jeff Gunderson, his brother Jordan and Garrett Gunderson; and his grandparents, Norm and Lois Tchida, Karen Taylor and Sue Barrett.
Eric was born in Siesseton, South Dakota on October 5th, 1982 to Tammy and Jeff Gunderson. he attended Franklin Pierce High School and later graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a degree in Finance. Shortly after that he started his career as a Police Officer. The Washington State Patrol, and all citizen's of the State of Washington were fortunate to have had Eric serve on their behalf for nearly 16 years. When Eric was not operating as a public servant and doing his esteemed detective work he enjoyed coaching his son's Football and Baseball teams. He was the ultimate father and an adored role model to so many.
For those that were fortunate enough to have known Eric, knew that he was always full of life, he always had a charming and unforgettable grin on his face. Eric was such a special person that touched so many lives during his time with us. Losing Eric so tragically and suddenly leaves us all, especially his wife and children, with tremendous grief.
