Emma Louise Ross' Obituary
Emma L. Ross, 83, passed away on November 12, 2014 in Tacoma, WA. She was born on March 22, 1931 in Garden City, Kansas to Calvin W. and Jessie M. (Hamilton) Sartain.
Emma worked for many years as a caregiver for handicapped children. She devoted her life to the young people of her family and those in her community which all referred to her as “Grandma”.
She loved bread making, crotcheting, crossword puzzles, quilting and fishing with family. Her family will remember her caring ways and always opened her door to those struggling to make ends meet. Emma never turned anyone away. We will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her children Mary Lois Wayson, Lavina Mattox-Lindsey, Leo (Cecilia) Mattox and Lewis Mattox; brother Jim (Karen) Sartain; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; childhood friend Marie and many friends. Emma was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, son Clifford and daughter Mary Ross.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Mountain View Funeral Home’s Garden Chapel. Visitation will be from 11am to 6pm, Friday, November 28 at Mountain View Funeral Home.
