Elva Tingstad's Obituary
Elva Marie Tyra Tingstad, 87, of Tacoma passed away peacefully November 5, 2013. Born August 12, 1926 in Fayette County, PA, Elvie was a retired sales clerk for Rhodes Department Store, Liberty House, and Fredrick & Nelson. She is survived by her brother Peter Tyra Sr., 94, of Moneta, VA, sister Tillie Scewczuch, 99, of Binghamton, NY, her 2 daughters, Nanette (John) Kiaha of Kailua Kona, HI, and Pamela (Mike) Knotek of Puyallup, WA, grandsons Justin (Belinda) Edwards, Sean Knotek, great-grandchildren Aerial and Riley Edwards, and numerous nieces and nephews. Elva is preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Christian Tingstad.
A celebration of life service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Garden Chapel in Lakewood, Tuesday November 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM. A SPECIAL thank you to the staff at Franciscan Hospice House for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Franciscan Hospice House.
