Elva Louise Green's Obituary
Elva Louise Green passed away 10/23/2008. She was born near Corvallis, Oregon in 1910 and lived all her life in Oregon and Washington, enjoying vacation trips in all the western states.
She came with her parents to Tenino, Washington in 1924. After graduation from Tenino High School in 1928 she was married to Sherman Green. They lived near Tenino for 16 years, moving to Tacoma, Washington with their two sons in 1944.
Her main interest in life was her home and family. She enjoyed crafts and gardening and spent time helping the elderly. She was a SHIBA volunteer for seven years advising seniors of their insurance benefits.
She volunteered at the start of the Fern Hill Senior Center, later participating at the beginning of the new Lighthouse Senior Center where she was a volunteer for 17 years.
She attended Parkway Presbyterian Church in Spanaway.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 51 years and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Green. Surviving are two sons, Leon (and Carolyn) Green of Roy and Robert of Spanaway; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2008 in Mountain View Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour before the service in Mountain View Funeral Home.
