Elsie Wood's Obituary
Elsie Wood
11-29-1916 3-20-2009
Elsie lived most of her 92 years of life in Tacoma where she was born and raised. Mom never had any of her own children, but she met our dad in 1963 and married soon after. She always said Dad blessed her with 5 wonderful children, whom she loved and treated as her own. As the years passed, she became a grandmother to 11, and a great-grandmother to many. Mom worked several jobs through the years, but retired as a waitress from Horlocks Cafe in downtown Tacoma. When Dad retired, they became snowbirds. They flew south to Arizona for the winter, and returned home to Graham to live with their daughter and son-in-law for the summers. Preceded in death by her husband Mark Wood, step-sons Michael and Glenn Wood, son in-law Daniel Hitchner, and grandson Mark Hitchner. Mom, you were a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mom, grandmother and friend. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Please join us for a graveside service at Mountain View in Lakewood, Friday March 27, 2009 at 12:30 pm.
