Elsa Jane Stokes' Obituary
Elsa Stokes passed away July 24, 2005, due to complications of terminal cancer. She was born and raised in the Tacoma area, living most of her life in Midland. She was a member of the Steilacoom Mask and Wig in her earlier days, directing and acting, a tap dance teacher, a past PTA president, Campfire leader, artist, musician, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.She was preceded in death by her husband Russell F. Stokes, her son Capt. Gregory D. Stokes, Air Force Retired, step-son Jim Stokes, step-daughter Loretta Stokes, step-son Patrick Stokes, and grandson Philippe Stokes.She is survived by daughters Barbara Atchison of Midland, Sylvia Taylor of Mukilteo; her son Charles Stokes of New York City; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She is also survived by her sisters Evelyn Hanna, Marion Rave and Flora Bolstad. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.May you find peace and rest, mom, with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We love you.Mountain View Memorial Park will be her final resting place. No funeral or memorial service is planned.
