Elna Palma Strom 1919-2010
Elna passed away 1/27/10 after a long struggle. She would have been 91 in May. She was born in Valderoy, Norway and came to America in 1926 at the age of 7. She was proud to become an American Citizen and she worked as a bookkeeper at her dad's boatbuilding company Marine View Boat for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed an active life especially golfing and bowling with her many friends and after retirement traveling extensively with dad, Stanley O. Strom, who passed away in 1993. She was active in church, Gloria Dei Lutheran, and never missed a Sunday until she was unable to travel.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Hansina Petersen, brothers Elias and Carsten, sister Clara. She is survived by her children, Gregg (Cathi), Judy (Bill), grandkids Ryan (Amy), Scott (Brenda), Sabrina, Samantha (Jarrod), Susanna (Zerek), and one great grandchild Adah. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Vi Petersen, Irma Strom and Joanne Petersen and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Saturday January 30, 200 at Mountain View Funeral Home at 10 am with a reception following at the Willow Room in the Celebration of Life Building. We are very grateful to the excellent care she received at Flora Vista Care Facility with Claudia Kolano and her excellent staff and the wonderful folks at Hospice.
