Elna "Ellie" Karlmann Elna Karlmann lost her brave battle with cancer October 28, 2011. She was born on November 22, 1935 to Carl and Bernice Stone in Spokane, WA. Ellie retired from Pay Less Corp. as a retail clerk in 1997. She was preceded in death by her baby daughter Michelle in 1973, brother Leonard Newton in 2006, sister Shirley Brooking in 2007, and niece Diana Backman in 2011. Elna is survived by son Les Bennett (Sondra) and daughter Susan Ide (Don), both of Tacoma, WA, and special companion Tom Perkins of Tacoma. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Elna was always the happiest when spending quality time with her family and grandchildren. Her warm and caring personality will be greatly missed by family and her many friends of the Midland area and south Tacoma. Memorial services will be held in the Mountain View Garden Chapel at 2pm on November 10, 2011. Special thanks to Group Health Hospice, especially nurses Tish and Linda.
