Elna C. Nicholson
Elna C. Nicholson was born May 5, 1918 to William and Lena Sundquist and passed away at home January 1, 2009. A lifelong resident of Tacoma, she graduated from Stadium High School and worked as a receptionist for Marcus Nalley of Nalley Foods Company. She was preceded in death by Jack, her husband of 52 years who founded Nicholson Engineering Company. She greatly enjoyed her family especially family breakfasts and dinners with all the kids and grandkids. She loved walking the beaches at Point Defiance Park was an avid fuchsia gardener. She is survived by her daughter Sue Nicholson Butkus, sons David (Bev) and R. William (Debbie); grandchildren Jennifer Nicholson, Steven Nicholson, and John Leer; and great grandchildren Kayla, Abigayle and Eryk Keath; one son James (Jim) died in 1970. Special thanks to Alex Veal and Danielle Huff for their loving care that made her last years comfortable and enjoyable. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 2pm at Lakewood Presbyterian Church, 8601 104th St. SW, Lakewood 98498.
