Elmer K. Peterson's Obituary
Jesus said, Â"Â...he who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life; he does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.Â" John 5:24Elmer was born Aug. 12, 1915 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His family moved to Tacoma, Washington in the early 1920Â's, where he resided for the past 85 years. He attended Stewart Jr. High and Lincoln High School.During WWII he worked in the shipyards, and went to Tacoma Business School, and then moved on to the Pearsall Floral Co. as grower and salesman.The Tacoma Public Schools is where he worked until he retired. He married Clarice soon after in 1977. They enjoyed spending their winters down in hot Arizona.He was a several time Gold Medal winner in the Senior Olympic Horse Shoe Competition. He found his greatest joy out in his garden. It was there he spent countless hours cultivating, planting, and nurturing his plants. His tomatoes were plentiful and sweet, sunflowers towering, and pumpkins weighing 100Â's of pounds. He was a master gardener.He will be truly missed by his wife Clarice, his three children Kenneth, Carolyn and Erik; his grandchildren Peter, Eve, Aaron, Sarah, Vanessa, Elizabeth and Jim; his great-grandchildren; Jamie, Ben, Olivia, Genevieve, Sam, Raven, Safari, and Apollo.His memorial service will be held at 1:00p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Mount Cross Lutheran Church, 8902 40th St. W, University Place, WA.Donations can be made to the womenÂ's group at Mt. Cross Lutheran Church, who faithfully cared for Elmer and Clarice, and so many others.
