When Ellen arrived in Tacoma in the 1950's she began working at Pacific Telephone, and that's where I met her. I remember when she married your father Mr. Davis of the USAF, I also remember when she became a stay-at-home mom to raise you 2 boys. Then she returned to work at the phone company again, we worked side by side until the Big Divestiture in 1982. I went to Seattle and she stayed in Tacoma. When I called her that summer on July 10, to wish her a Happy Birthday Ellen answered in typical Ellen fashion--"What do you want?"
Last Thursday 5 of us retirees from the phone company joined for lunch in Lakewood and the question was asked of how Ellen was doing. We didn't know Ellen left us 6 days earlier. Bless Ellen, and bless you boys, she loved more that you know. We all have cherished memories.
