Ella Washburn's Obituary
Ella A. Washburn was born December 21, 1921 in Cincinnati, Ohio and passed away in Lakewood, WA on September 29, 2018. After graduation form nursing school, she was commissioned as a Navy nurse (LT(JG)), in WWII. Married to Carleton Washburn in 1945, they lived in Wareham, Massachusetts for several years, then began several moves as a military family. They settled into Lakewood, WA in 1961. Ella worked as a charge nurse at a local nursing home and at the American Lake VA Hospital, retiring in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carleton, and daughter, Kathleen. She is survived by daughters Sue Scott, Lakewood and Jo A. Lippert, Puyallup, and son Steven Washburn, University Place, 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews in Ohio and Massachusetts.
