Ella Neufeld's Obituary
Ella Lange Neufeld was born Sept 22, 1917 on a farm in Broadmead, Oregon to Adolf and Margaret (Buhler) Lange. She died May 8, 2018 in University Place, Washington. Ella’s parents both died when she was a child. An aunt and uncle raised Ella and her three siblings on a farm in Salt Creek, Oregon. She graduated from Dallas High School in 1934 and went to work for the telephone company. She married Pete Neufeld and later moved to Tacoma, Washington where she spent most of her life. She worked for over 30 years at Brown and Haley Candy Company. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 71years serving as SS Secretary for 60 of those years. She was the model of a Christian wife, mother, and friend. She never had an unkind word to say to anyone. She was honored by Pierce County for having voted in every election for more than 60 years. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband (Pete), three siblings (Ervin, Edna, and Mildred) and her great-granddaughter (Amy Jo Neuman). She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Brewer; a son Larry Neufeld (Sally); four grandchildren, Steven Nesdore (Becky), Stacy Neuman (William), Mark Neufeld (DeLynn), and Joel Neufeld (Jenn) and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be Saturday, May 19 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church; 6511 So. “C” Street; Tacoma, Washington.
Ella will be placed to rest with her husband at Mountain View Memorial Park.
