Ella Andersen's Obituary
Ella Andersen passed away peacefully on May 18, 2009. Born in Kristiansund Norway on September 1, 1909 to Edward and Elen Hoseth her family emigrated to Washington state in 1911. They lived in the Seabeck area of Hood Canal for 10 years before moving to Tacoma where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1927. She married Garfield Andersen of Tacoma in 1932. They had three children Elaine Nordlund (Arnold) of Fircrest, Gary Andersen (Michael Ann) of Lakebay, David Andersen (Laura) of Olympia, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Ella was preceded in death by Garfield, her parents and her sister Esther. Ella retired from Tacoma Public Schools after working mainly at Jason Lee Middle school and Mont Downing Elementary school. Ella's Norwegian heritage was important to her and she was a member of Son's of Norway for more than 25 years. She enjoyed family, car trips, fishing, discussing politics, and always retained a love for Hood Canal. Services will be at 1:00 Saturday May 23rd in the Garden Chapel at Mt. View Funeral Home 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW in Lakewood Wa. The family is grateful for the care provided by MultiCare Hospice and the staff of Golden Acres AFH of Fircrest, with a special thank you to Perla, Edith and Mercedes.
