Elizabeth Ann Rykhus' Obituary
Elizabeth “Beth” Ann (Campbell) Rykhus beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025 in Puyallup WA surrounded by loved ones. She was 81 years old.
Born on December 28, 1943 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to John Campbell and Lorrene Morgan.
For more than 25 years, Beth served in the Tacoma School District, where her kindness, patience, and dedication left a lasting impression on students, staff, and families alike. Whether in the classroom, the library, or the front office, she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.
Outside of work, Beth devoted many joyful hours to exploring family history. She loved uncovering old stories, tracing family lines, and sharing discoveries that connected generations together.
Beth also found joy in bowling, reading, and sewing clothes for her children. She lovingly crocheted blankets for her many grandchildren and was an active and cherished member of the Red Hat Society. Beth will be remembered for her deep love of family and friends, her kindness and wisdom, and her remarkable talent for crafts. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert (Bubba); her children, Gary Mueller, Jeffrey Todd, Suzanne Clark (Edward), and William Todd; as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Lois Erickson (Bob), John Campbell (Sharon), and Dennis Morgan. Beth was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Starla Haley and her sister Karen Harwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, reflecting Beth’s deep love and compassion for children.
