The sun is shining here in the snowy mountains of Vermont. This reminds me of the beautiful painting of Beth and Amy playfully tubing down a hill. I will take a nice walk tonight in memory of her and remind her to slow down with those long legs.

I remember when Beth was going to have surgery. I brought her Hershey's kisses and almost gave them to her ! I forgot she couldn't have them. Then after surgery, I visited her and she asked me to pray for her. I told her I would and she said, "No, pray that I fart !" I was taken a back, but then she said, "If I fart, it means my bowels are working ! " in her impish grin. So, I did pray that she farted. The next day, she was so happy, she had farted ! I will miss my friend. I know that heaven is a better place because there is another angel watching over us all.##imported-begin##Gail Carrara##imported-end##
Amy & Family, your mother, Beth, was a special woman. I know her from our, very old oncology nursing days. When she first was put on the Hospice service, she called in a 'report' to Pam. With your mom's permission, we shared 'Beth's last report' with the TCC nursing students studing end of life. This gift will help them support dying well for others. Beth's legacy of caring lives on! Amy and family, Beth was a wonderful hospice nurse. She took compassionate care of my husband, Bill in January and part of February 2000, and her care was a comfort to me. I spent little time with Beth; but that was not necessary to know she was a special person. I have special memories of her at your school concerts and family dinners. Her humor, poise, and grace sustained her. Your mom was so proud of you. She is in heaven now watching over you (and others, I am sure). Continue to make her proud.

Words cannot express your loss.
But know that Beth touched me as a friend and someone I was able to know as a Hospice Nurse. Beth was my mother's nurse. My father and I felt comforted knowing Beth was helping us through that difficult time.
My prayers are with you at this very sad time.

Amy, I'm so sorry about your mom. She was a wonderful woman that I was looking forward to getting to know. She seemed to exude fun and good times.
