Elizabeth Marie Grubb's Obituary
Elizabeth Marie Hargrove GrubbHeaven is now a brighter place for the calling home of Beth. Despite the enormous void left by the loss of Beth, the world is no darker because of the light she left on every heart she touched. Beth was born on June 26, 1959, in Eugene, Oregon to Rick and Pat Hargrove. Growing up a Â"military brat,Â" Beth criss-crossed the country and the world with her family before settling in the Northwest beginning at Idaho State University in Pocatello. An exceptional student, Beth studied to become a nurse, not surprising given her loving, nurturing and giving nature. Beth specialized in oncology, spending over 20 years gently and compassionately caring for thousands of people with the same cancer that would eventually take her own life.BethÂ's brightest light and truest inspiration is her daughter Amy, now 17. Two peas in a pod, Beth and Amy werenÂ't merely mother and daughter or best friends, but a powerful and magical combination that overflowed with love, trust, adventure, and joy. In addition to Amy and her parents, Beth is survived by her grandmother Charlotte Smith, her sister Linda Glenn, brothers, Joe Hargrove, Jim Hargrove, and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Described in glowing terms by all who knew her most thought of Beth as a special woman who approached life with a charming stubbornness and sense of humor. Her sweet yet soaring spirit was infectious to us all, but it was in her tender heart that countless family members, friends, patients, and strangers found comfort. From childhood to her young death, Beth filled each day living, loving and laughing.Beth spent the last three years of career as a hospice nurse with Franciscan Hospice Health Center, a calling she felt deeply and drew great joy from. She was gently guided to her dignified death by her loyal friends and co-workers at Franciscan Hospice Care, Pam, Debbie, and Robb. We thank Dr. Tom Baker for the exceptional tender care he provided to our sweet girl. In lieu of flowers or gifts BethÂ's family respectfully requests donations be made to Franciscan Hospice C/o Franciscan Foundation for Health Care P.O.
