Elizabeth Elnora Hoover's Obituary
Elizabeth Elnora Hoover was born November 15, 1918 in Bremerton, WA to parents Burgon and Bessie Mesler. She grew up in Tacoma, graduating from Stadium High School in 1938. During WWII she worked in the Naval Shipyard helping in the war effort.After the war she worked as a nurse at Tacoma General Hospital for 39 years. She lived in Tacoma most of her life and raised four children.She was a charter member of the Tacoma Bible Presbyterian Church where she and sister Altha taught a children's bible study for many years. She held weekly "Good News Club" in her home to teach the neighborhood children about Jesus.Elizabeth was a long-standing member of the Rose Society. She loved gardening and spending time in her yard, but most of all she loved the Lord. We will miss her very much. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Stanley Hoover, in 1980. She is survived by sons, Wilbur S. Hoover, Jr., David P. Hoover and Kevin L. Mullin; daughter, Margaret L. (Jim) Jolly; step-mother, Valeria Mesler; sisters, Norma Mesler, Altha Mesler, Nancy Lundberg, Bonnie Payne, Mary Ellen Peterson, Janet (John) Moreland, Robin (John) Schur and Vali Mesler; brothers, Burgon (Violet) Mesler, Dick (Joan) Mesler, Alex Mesler, Philip (Sonia) Mesler and Loman Mesler; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, January 4, 2008 at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, Washington, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM at Tacoma Bible Presbyterian Church, 5 South G Street, Tacoma, Washington.
