Elizabeth Byrnece Hurd's Obituary
Elizabeth (Betty) Hurd, born Nov. 22 1922, died Oct. 20 2008 age 85. Preceded in death by husband Ray, daughters Geraldine DiCostanzo and Kathleen Kay. Survived by sons Robert (Rita), William (Sophie) and daughter Patricia Johnson, seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Graduated from Eatonville High School and married Ray Hurd in 1941. A resident of Fircrest since 1950, she devoted her life to her family and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. A founding member of St. Charles, she ministered in the altar society, rosary group and funeral reception committee. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and the St. Charles parish family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nativity House of Tacoma. Rosary will be prayed for Betty on Sunday Oct. 26 at 7:00 PM at St. Charles. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday Oct. 27 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles followed by a reception and graveside service at Mountain View Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Villa Cynthia Adult Family Home and Franciscan Hospice for all of their support.
