Eliza S. Vargas' Obituary
Eliza S. Vargas passed peacefully on October 31, 2018 at the age of 92. Born in San Quintin, Abra in the Philippines, she was a longtime Lakewood resident and active community member. Wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother…family always came first. She was a devoted friend whose life-long friendships were among some of her most treasured gifts. An undying love for music and dance provided joy throughout her life. Her wit and sense of humor along with her warmth and nurturing spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Herminio Vargas and is survived by her children Ernesto Vargas (Mary), Elizabeth Woodarski (Raymond), Maria Vargas-Ignacio (Elmer) and Herminio, Jr. (Patricia), grandchildren Victoria Woodarski (Michael Goldfarb), Joanna Vargas, Brooke Vargas-Jackman (Zachary) and great grandchildren Tyler, Trenton, Nicholas and Hunter. A viewing will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home, Lakewood, WA. All are invited to a celebration of Eliza’s life at a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at St. Francis Cabrini Parish, Lakewood, WA with burial and reception immediately following.
