Elisapeta Talalele Felagai's Obituary
Elisapeta Felagai, age 63, passed away peacefully on October 30,2019 surrounded by her family at Washington University Medical Center. Elisapeta was born in Pago Pago, American Samoa and was the 6th of 9 children born to the late Talalele and Tusalava. In 1974, Elisapeta graduated from San Pedro High School where she flourished as a respectable young lady who was smart and articulate. On March 24, 1978, Elisapeta married Sevelu Felagai in Compton, CA and they would live there for 14 years raising their family. They later relocated to Tacoma, Washington where Elisapeta began her long career with the United States Postal Office before retiring in 2015.
Elisapeta is remembered as a gentle person who possessed a great deal of inner strength and determination. She was a loyal wife and a proud mother of 7 children. She committed her life to raising her family and teaching them through example the morals and values that she held dear. Elisapeta exemplified someone who lived her life with grace, she was an understanding person with a forgiving heart. She found great joy in being a Grandmother to 19 grandchildren. She loved and adored each of her children & grandchildren and always tried to instill in them her belief to forgive, pray, and have faith in God. She was a person of strong character and values, and was a devoted member of the gospel, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Elisapeta left the world a better place and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Talalele & Tusalava, her siblings Morrow, Talitonu, Tagiilima, Tunatunalei and Tom. Elisapeta is survived by her husband Sevelu, and her children Brian, Henry, Serena, William, Talitonu, Alaivanu, Tusalava also their spouses Tasi, Sini, Kyle, Marian, and Fa’ava. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren: Brian, Noah, Sesilia, Xavier, Tomasi, Isaiah, Meleana, Henry, Paula, Joey, Mealamu, Alaivanu, William Jr, Isabella, Ellijah, Ellias, Elliana, Siaki, Elisapeta “Ellie.” Her surviving siblings are Viliamu, Talato, Titifalaula and many extended family members that include cousins, nephews, nieces, and in-laws.
