Elisabeth Fomby's Obituary
Elisabeth was born 4 March 1929 and passed away on 25 October 2015 at the age of 86.
Elisabeth (Mom, Oma, Tante, & Sister) was born in Eckenheim, Frankfurt am Main, Germany to August Camillus Gombert and Christine Elise (Hermann) Gombert. It is in Frankfurt she met and married the love of her life Roy in 1946, and they raised 4 children with great love Freddie, Danny, Cindy and Evie.
Mom was the glue that held the family together, Christmas was her favorite and everyone still talks about them. The Fourth of July street parties were fantastic and Thanksgivings were unbelievable. Mom was a very caring and giving person she would go out of her way to help anyone.
Mom had many interests her most enjoyable one was knitting and sewing. She enjoyed working with the embroidery machine in the Sewing Club. We don't think there is anyone in Lakewood or San Diego that doesn't have one of her hats, scarfs or sweaters.
Mom worked for the Clover Park School District for 18 Years which she truly enjoyed. She talked about the great fun she had working with her friends. Mom cherished the friendships she had with all the girls in the Kaffe Klatch Klub it was one of her favorites.
She is survived by her son Fred Fomby, (Lynda). She loved her grandchildren Melissa, Michael, Stephanie, Scotty, Ryan, Morgan, Christy, Brandon and Kody who all just cherished their OMA, also loved by her her 12 Great Grand Children and 2 Great- Great Grand Children and Nephew Guenter Rupp (Sascha)
Mom is preceded in death by Roy (Dad), her son Danny, and her daughters Cindy and Evie.
Thank you to all who helped especially neighbors Janet, Joyce, Phil and Karen who helped tremendously in the latter years.
