I'm so sorry to learn, and so long after the fact, of Eleanor's passing. She and my mother were long-time friends from Sears days and after. My father finished a cabin for her; I no longer remember the location but I do remember that, although my father would never dream of asking her for money since he was glad to help out a friend, she still gave him $100. It was the first $100 bill I'd ever seen. She was a good friend to our family and I still have the hanky she brought me from Norway that has Norwegian phrases on it. I haven't lived in Longview for some time and my parents, although three years younger than Eleanor, both died before she did. She may have come to my mother's memorial service; I honestly don't remember any more who was and who wasn't there. I hope that she was comfortable in her final days; she was a good woman and a classy lady and a good friend.
