Eleanor I. Schindele's Obituary
Eleanor came from Hungary as a child and grew up in Pueblo, CO. She studied music at Oberlin College, then served in the WAVES in WWII, stationed at Seattle's Pier 91, where she met and married Louis, a Navy Ensign. They were married 54 years, until his death in 1999. The family lived in Portland and Boise before moving to Lakewood in 1970. As a member of St. John Bosco parish, Eleanor was a parish organist during a 20-year period. She was also an organist at Sacred Heart parish in Boise and the Grotto of Our Sorrowful Mother in Portland. She belonged to the Third Order Society of St. Francis, and the Legion of Mary for many years. Eleanor is survived by children Pam (Ron), Mike, Tim (Ren e), Becky, Sue (Dave) and Steve, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral Rosary/Mass Monday, March 29, 2010, 10:30 AM, St. John Bosco, 10508-112th St. SW, Lakewood.
