Lovely woman, big heart, beautiful smile always to be carried with those dear to her!
My grandma had a smile that would light up a room and to know her was to love her. I do remember a day we went to the zoo with grandma and the family and some smelly people walk by and she like those people smell bad. So later in the day we ran into the same people she saw them coming i was pushing her up a hill in her wheel chair so I could not push that fast lol and she is saying at the top of her lungs there is those smelly people everyone plug you nose I'm like grandma shut you mouth as we are laughing sooooooo hard and thank you Rochelle for blaming it on the animals that we were close too. I love you grandma and with miss those good laughs
Grandma Elda, I will remember your thirst for adventure. At the age of 80 plus years Grandma was still living her life to the fullest. Going for rides on motorcycles and 4-wheelers, riding a chair lift at the ski mountian, and even riding the "Big Wheel." I will remember most her kind and gentle disposition. Children and animals adored her and I believe they are the best judges of true character. I remember one time at the Seattle Science Center in the Butterfly Garden, we were all trying to get a butterfly to land on us. We looked Grandma Elda and 7 or 8 had landed on her head and shoulders. Even butterflies could sence Grandma's kind and gentle nature. Grandma Elda, you were a great role model, and you also taught me to count my blessings not my problem. Heaven got a little sweeter and kinder this week. I love you forever and always. Rochelle
I remember when we were sitting down and doing a word search we were talking about cats. I was letting grandma know that I couldn't have one because Brandon was allergic to them. Grandma also had a love of animals and told me to just go get a skunk instead. I laughed at first but then she went into this story of how she had one when she was growing up. They got the stinker removed but she said that they had really long nails. She told me that they act just like cats and that way I could have one. I just enjoyed hearing about something from her child hood.

Rita and Kirstie remember our summer adventures in the "HILLS" with Grandma and Grandpa. I used to love to spend a week or two with them in the summer. I remember one time the weather was not tent friendly, so we folded down the seats and made beds in their Jeep. A little wind and rain was not going to ruin our time in the "Hills.". I also remember picking bouquets of Daisies each day, one for Grandma's table and one to mark where Grandpa had walked to, on his daily walk. Remember we would encourage him to take 2 more steps then he had the previous day by marking the side of the road with daisies. After a week or two daisies lined the side of the road and marked his progress. Grandma used to always be so grateful because Grandpa was happy to take his walk, instead of grumbling about it. Just last time I saw Grandma she talked about it. I love Daisies because they always remind me of Grandma and Grandpa and the "HILLS."
I was privileged to meet Elda at her great-granddaughter Emily's high school graduation. We sat and visited about how proud she was of her family. To watch her sparkle as she shared her stories was a gift. My thoughts go out to her family, who she clearly loved so very much!
