Eileen Kathryn Bullen's Obituary
June 24th, 1935 - August 25th, 2025
Eileen Kathryn Kidwell was born June 24th, 1935 in St. Louis, MO, the youngest child of Eleanor and John Kidwell (both deceased). Eileen was the youngest and had three sisters, Jeannie (101 and lives in Montana), Peggy, Dorothy and brother, Bud (all deceased). They lived in St. Louis until 1948. The parents moved to Monterey, CA with Eileen and Dorothy (older siblings were on their own by then). Eileen finished school and while in Jr. College met her first husband, Jim Morton. They married in 1955 and had four children, Jim, Larry, Michael and Kellie. In 1970, Eileen and Jim divorced. Three years later she met and married Jack Bullen. They moved with her children to Tacoma, WA. Eileen's love of music brought her much joy throughout her life. She took voice lessons at 16 and was a vocal music major in college. She performed in many productions and was active in the Methodist Church Choir in Monterey. Eileen and Jack were involved for 13 years with the Onstage Show Group. She was actively involved in their Unity Church of Tacoma, both in the choir and as a soloist since 1977. For 23 years Eileen sang with her barbershop quartet "Esprit de Four". She also sang with a group called "The Memorie Singers". She joined Puyallup 1st Presbyterian Church in 2013 and became a Decon and was active in the Choir. She volunteered at Grannie's Attic, a thrift store in Puyallup, for several years.
Her eldest son, Jim Morton and his children, Jimmy (37) and Destiny (35), and Destiny's sons Jack (8) and Jayce (6) live in the Sacramento area. Her second son, Larry Morton lived in St. Louis until he passed last year from cancer. The youngest son, Michael Morton and his wife, Gwen and their two grown children, Jake Martin (his kids William (13) and Melody(12) , along with Sarah and her wife M'ily and their two children Ryd'r (3) and Jer'z (1) live in Woodinville, WA. Her daughter, Kellie, lives in Eatonville, WA. Kellie's daughter, Brittany Knight-Modina (32) and her husband Mazatl (31) live in Fircrest, WA.
In July 2024, Jack Bullen, husband for 31 years, passed away from cancer. They had many wonderful experiences together over the years, including singing together in the "Onstage" group.
She met Johnnie Hobbs in a widow's support group, and they married in November 2005. They enjoyed several years together traveling and visiting with his adult children Sandra, Greg, and Doug, along with their spouses and grandchildren. They also visited Eileen's children and family spread around the country. Johnnie passed December 2017.
