Edwin (Bob) R. Bauer
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. Bob passed away on September 29, 2008. He was born January 1, 1916 in Philipsburg, Mt. to Mary and Albert Bauer. He was the second youngest of 6 kids. Bob graduated high school in Philipsburg in 1935 and went to work at a sapphire mine. After that he met up with a friend from Wisconsin and went to Alaska to work on the railroad and coal mining. When he moved back to Philipsburg he met Vorelle Cook and they married in 1941. Bob enlisted in the Seabees during the war and was in places like the Solomon Islands and Okinawa. After the war Bob joined Vorelle in Tacoma where she was living. He and Vorelle started a family and construction company. The family also took part in 4-H, dance clubs, music groups, trips and much more. After retirement Bob and Vorelle enjoyed spending time with there children and grandchildren. They have also taken many trips to Norway, Russia and Mexico. Bob loved spending time with his family and they loved spending time with him. He was a warm and loving man who made many friends throughout his life. Bob was never too busy to stop and greet friends and acquaintances, give hugs and kisses and help people when they needed assistance. Bob will be dearly missed. Bob is survived by his wife Vorelle, son Dennis, daughter Barbara, grandkids Tommy, Michelle, Sybil, Laci, and Karly. A memorial service is scheduled to be held in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home on 10/4/08 at 2:00pm.
