Edward Peterson's Obituary
Edward Robert Peterson
Edward was born on Sept. 26, 1920 in Tacoma to Carl August Petersen and Elizabeth Kerrone, and passed away May 15, 2012 aged 91. Ed was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He served as an Ensign in the Navy during World War II in the photography division, on Okinawa. After the war Ed worked for Nalley's Foods and was a co-owner of United Cascade Foods and Kona Koffee Kompany. He also worked at Central Meat Supply.
Ed was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in many positions over the years, including Bishop and Stake Clerk.
Ed was an avid gardener and we all enjoyed the fruits of his labor. He lost Edna Mae, his sweetheart of 65 years, in 2009. Now they are reunited. He spent his last four years at the Tacoma Lutheran Home, where he was well cared for.
Ed is survived by his son Scott Peterson (Sue), and grandchildren Melanie Curtis (Bill), Carolyn Rhodes (Aaron), and Steven Peterson (Lindsey). Also great-grandchildren Emily, Jacob, Matthew, and Megan Curtis, Jared, Allyson and Carys Rhodes, and extended family.
Services will be held May 22, 2012 at 11am at the Tacoma LDS Stake Center at South 12 and Pearl. (Viewing at 10am) We all loved Grandpa very much and will miss him dearly but now he is free.
Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
