Edward Morris Lee's Obituary
A career Army officer, Colonel Lee graduated from West Point in 1937 and served as a coast artillery commander in Hawaii just prior to and during the Pearl Harbor attack. His 27 years of Army service included General Douglas Mac ArthurÂ's staff in Japan, professor of automotive engineering at West Point, commander of an ammunition arsenal, and R&D manager for new Army weapons. After the Army, Ed had a career in commercial real estate until he retired to Puyallup, WA in 1973. An accomplished musician, Ed played the violin in the West Point chapel, in the Honolulu symphony, and in the Tacoma Community College orchestra; and he played the French horn in the Detroit Shrine band. In retirement Ed thrived on his love of fishing, music, reading, following world affairs, fellowship with friends, and basking in the love and warmth of his wife and family. Ed is survived by Dottie, his beloved wife of 64 years; his brother, Ken; 4 children, Edward, George, and Ted Lee, and Anne Potasky; nine grandchildren, Dana, Sherry, Kevin, Greg, Ted Jr., Laura, and Jonathan Lee, and Katie and Jeffrey Potasky; 2 great-grandchildren, Jason and Marissa Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed will be missed and long remembered.Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Valley Chapel in Lakewood. Graveside military honors to follow.
