Edward Burton Madison Jr.'s Obituary
Edward Burton Madison, Jr., 35, beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and nephew passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 after an extended illness battling complications of diabetes. Edward Jr. was born April 25, 1985 in Wichita, Kansas, son of Edward Burton Madison Sr. and Christina Lynn Stickney Madison. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Shirley Anna (nee) Frien; his grandfather Bartley Norman Madison, and his stepmother Lisa G. Cozad.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Edward. Most importantly, Edward Jr. had a deep love for his family. He cherished any and all activities with family – camping, baseball and football games, shopping, sight-seeing, or simply getting together. He had the ability to find happiness in his daily activities – gardening, growing tomatoes, caring for pets, cooking for family. Edward Jr. loved holidays – one of his favorites was Halloween. Decorating, dressing up as “Jack” from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and taking his daughter trick-or-treating. Throughout his extended illness, whenever asked what was most important to him, he answer was always the same “taking care of my daughter Marilyn”.
Edward is survived by his daughter Marilyn and his stepson Thierry of Tacoma; his parents Edward Sr. of Tacoma and Christina of Graham; his sisters Amber Lynn Watts of Tacoma, Gina Walker of Augusta, Kansas, Wendy Elizabeth Anne Shura of Biloxi, Mississippi, and Alicia Jocelyn of Tacoma; brother Tommy Grice of Tacoma; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and one grand-niece and grand-nephew.
A memorial service will be held at on April 25 at 11:30 am at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, WA at the Valley Chapel.
