To Whom it my concern,
I had the pleasure of knowing and having memorable experiences with Mr Reames as a boy between 3rd and 8th grades, circa 1973. Many times at the Seacliff estates beach the neighborhood kids and I would go down to the beach and fish. Mr. Reames showed us his worm farm and would offer us a hand made rodless fishing line for us to catch the big. He also would share his row boat. Mr. Reames also gave himself to us as our Cub Scout Master for 2 years. He always was positive influence and a terrific role model. So sorry to hear of your loss. My memories at the beach certainly include the Reames Family. I remember attending the Shrine Circus because of Ed's generosity, painting rental houses with Alan and water skiing at the beach. MY FATHER ED REAMES BECAME MY MENTOR FOR LIFE. I AM THE ELDEST SON AND WILL MISS HIS PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE.
ED'S FAVORITE THING TO DO WAS GO TO A SHRINE MEETING, ANYWHERE IT DID NOT MATTER, HE LOVED TO BE AROUND PEOPLE,FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

Edward Reames was the first Shriner I met when I transferred from Mascat Shrine Center in Wichita Falls, TX to Afifi Shrine Center, December 1962.
I was a pilot in the USAF and had just been reassigned to McChord AFB from Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls,TX.
Ed questioned me extensively with reference to my both my civilian and Masonic background. Ed was intent upon my joining a unit within the Afifi Shrine Center. When I told him that I was a machinist and had considerable background in automitive and small engine repairs, in addition to being an Officer and Pilot in the USAF, he immediately introduced me to the then Director of the Directors Staff, Vernon Blair, who signed me immidiately as a member of that Unit. I continued in the Directors Staff for 30 years and then transferred to the Afifi Greeters Unit, which Ed founded.
Ed was always available to answer questions and take care of the almost 4000 Shrine Members of Afifi at the time he was the Recorder.
I missed him when he retired from the Recorders job at Afifi Shrine Center and I will miss him even more now, but I know he now is in a better place.##imported-begin##Will Witte##imported-end##
