Edward L. Green's Obituary
Edward L. Green, 73, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family, on December 8, 2005 due to complications of lung disease. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, on December 15, 1931, the family soon moved to Hamilton, Ohio, where Ed was raised. In 1949, Ed joined the US Army and found himself traveling to Fort Lewis Army Base. It was then that he met his wife, Marlene B. Kennedy, to whom he remained married for nearly 56 years. Ed served in the Korean War, second division, and was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action at the age of 19. He was a proud member of VFW Post 969.Ed worked very hard all his life to provide for his wife and eight children. He retired as a painter & drywall finisher in 1992. He performed in several country and western bands at various Tacoma night clubs for more than twenty years. Ed is survived by his wife, Marlene, and seven of their eight children: Cathy and Clark Riccobuono, Puyallup, Sue and Chris Wells, Tacoma, Dick and Helena Green, Woodland, Denise Green, Roseburg, OR; Jim and Melissa Green, Tacoma, Mike and Sue Green, Tacoma, Lisa Green and Loretta Cool, Tacoma, 28 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Emma Green, his oldest son, Edward (Eddie) S. Green in 1968, and three sisters.
